April Snow
Today’s prompt challenges us to write a shadorma or a Fib. (Full prompt available here.)
I woke up to a snowy landscape, which struck me as deeply unfair, given how good we’ve all been at praising spring. I couldn’t think about much else all day, so here’s a triple shadorma (with a tail) that expresses my indignation with this sudden change in weather. The photo above was taken from our balcony this morning.
NaPoWriMo, Day 7
April Snow
Cruel month,
is this how you roll?
Up there,
getting drunk
in your cold projection booth?
You’ve got the wrong reel.
It’s out
of sequence, I mean
season. First
bloom, then gloom?
Wake up, my old friend, and smell
the dystopia.
You’ve beamed us
into harm’s way. What
ice planet
is this? What
trilogy? April, these can’t
be the droids we’re
looking for.
adroit, a droid, and an adenoid walk into a bar… ~

Lovely. Here in Germany we’re having snow too. There is a German phrase “Der April macht, was er will” (April does what it wants). Some would also say that April doesn’t know what it wants: sometimes rain, sometimes sunshine 🙂

Hahhha, brilliant! What trilogy for real?? You tell them, Romana! You have snow too, amazing. My city of origin Ljubljana is also covered with it and all spring flowers in it. Friends on some hills just above it reported of minus 16 degrees C today. 😮 I hope you’re warmer than that! And that no sleet comes next.

It’s a shiny day here today, albeit still cold. Not quite -16 C, but borderline freezing. The snow is gone. For now.

Yeah, you melted the snow! We had 0 an hour ago when I went on my walk. Back to winter coat among unhappy poppies. But the sun is bright and is warming them up.
